Climbing

Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned climber you are bound to find something to suit you in the limestone cliffs to be found in Sixt Fer à Cheval. There are several different sectors, the most accessible being the Tines sector. Here climbers of all levels rub shoulders as there are several passages ranging from 5a to8a. During the summer season you’ll have to be patient at the Hubert Ducroz rock as the climbing school has priority in the Tines sector during the holidays!. The Fonts sector is also open to the public. There is an approach walk of about 15 to 20 minutes and the rock is equipped from 5c to 8b. For experienced climbers the Dard rock face that is to be found in the direction of the refuge de la Vogealle in a very mountainous environment should provide some good thrills. Several long passages have been opened in this sector which is accessible after an approach walk of about one and a half hours requiring good climbing boots and suitable clothing.
